Moments Before – A Digital Tribute to Ukraine’s First Responders The project, commissioned with the support of UNDP in Ukraine and funded by the EU under the EU4Recovery initiative, aimed to document and share the untold stories of those on the frontlines—firefighters, police officers, bomb disposal experts, and paramedics—who risk their lives every day. To bring this project to life, our journalist, videographer, and two photographers spent a week embedded with emergency teams in Mykolaiv, Dnipro, and Zaporizhzhia, capturing their routines, emotions, and fleeting moments of calm before they rushed into action. These moments—just before a call, just before an explosion—became the heart of our visual storytelling. We developed the creative concept, digital production, and visual identity, ensuring that the site was both emotionally compelling and highly functional. Our team was responsible for: - Website concept & art direction - Graphic design & animations - Photo & video production - Sound design & typography The result is "A Moment Before", a digital space where users can enter the world of Ukraine’s first responders through powerful photo essays and in-depth interviews. The site does more than showcase their work—it provides an intimate look at their thoughts, fears, and motivations as they navigate the challenges of war. As we followed these heroes through some of the most intense days of summer, one phrase echoed through every farewell: "Stay dry." In their world, it means a day without disasters. But such days are rare. Their duty and daily lives are inseparable, shaped by the ever-present need to react instantly. Through immersive design and storytelling, we aimed to capture that split-second transition—when an ordinary person becomes a fearless rescuer.
