DESCRIPTION Funtasaur is a social entrepreneurship concept that brings together design, inclusion, and economic sustainability. The project focuses on creating designer clothing for children with disabilities, thoughtfully adapted to different body types and mobility needs. The clothing is not positioned as a medical product — instead, it becomes a tool for comfort, self-expression, and social visibility. The production model involves mothers of children with disabilities in both the design and manufacturing processes through remote work opportunities, creating pathways for stable income and professional fulfillment. PROBLEM Children with disabilities often face a limited selection of adaptive clothing, which is typically utilitarian or medical in appearance and does not consider the need for aesthetics and self-expression. At the same time, families — particularly mothers of children with disabilities — have limited employment opportunities due to the necessity of constant caregiving. Meanwhile, non-profit initiatives frequently depend solely on donor funding, which complicates long-term sustainability. The project establishes a partially self-sustaining social enterprise model: - production involving mothers of children with disabilities; - an ethical product with a clear social mission; - potential for long-term economic sustainability for a non-profit structure. The brand name was inspired by the idea of an imaginary creature — the “Funtasaur” — symbolizing uniqueness and the strength to be different. The fictional Funtasaur characters emphasize that difference is not a deviation but a value: the world has space for diverse forms, bodies, and stories that are not required to be the same.
