In 2023, Ukraine celebrated Catholic-European Christmas for the first time 2023 year, moving away from the Soviet-era celebrations. To mark this milestone, Kyiv's Honey patisserie unveiled its inaugural advent calendar filled with unique desserts. Advent calendars, new in Ukraine, hit the market, so Honey needed to not only attract attention to the new product but also stand out among others and do so with a global quality standard. This significant occasion demanded a calendar that was both special and distinctive, necessitating equally remarkable packaging. It aimed to capture the Christmas spirit, Ukrainian traditions, and the exclusivity of the premium desserts within. Before launching its advent calendar, Honey's patisserie refreshed its brand. So, the packaging needed to blend a new identity with the Christmas spirit. Featuring exclusive, unique deserts, it required innovative design. Traditional Slavic symbols — Didukh, paper cutouts, straw angels, stars — were transformed into modern graphics, integrating the vertical symmetry of Ukrainian Christmas ornaments into the design, seamlessly linking tradition with contemporary flair.
