Background Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the Russians have stolen tens of thousands of works of art in Ukraine, including artifacts that are over a thousand years old. According to the Ministry of Culture, exhibits from 40 Ukrainian museums have been stolen or destroyed (as of October 2022). 945 cultural heritage sites were destroyed or damaged by Russia (as of February 25, 2024) Creative idea We decided to create a space where people from all around the world could view the stolen artworks from any device. An artistic rethinking of the crime committed by Russia against the Ukrainian people. The goal of our Museum is to draw the world's attention to this problem and to preserve and document the crimes against Ukrainian culture. Results We reached more than 2 million people through media coverage, more than 3 million people through social networks, and more than 1,200 people visited the museum space.
