Includes: climate actions; responsible consumption and production; affordable and clean energy; clean water and sanitation; life below water (oceans, seas and marine resources); life on land (land-based ecosystems); sustainable cities and communities (inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable cities and human settlements).
Work intended to fight against discrimination (racial, ethnic, religious etc.) by promoting empowerment, equality, rights, tolerance.
Efforts that contribute to provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels. Includes: promote the rule of law and ensure equal access to justice; substantially reduce corruption and bribery; develop effective, accountable and transparent institutions; ensure public access to information and protect fundamental freedoms.
Quality: efforts that contribute to ensure inclusive and quality education for all and promote lifelong learning opportunities.
Civic & social education: work which promotes public services and initiatives intended to educate on civic or social issues.
Work towards the achievement of gender equality and empowerment for all.
Includes:
- efforts to achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls (aims to grant women and girls equal rights, opportunities to live free without discrimination including workplace discrimination or any violence)
- initiatives to promote rights, equality, empowerment, tolerance, and inclusion for LGBTQ individuals or communities.
Efforts which address poverty and hunger everywhere.
Includes: reduction of hunger and malnutrition; eradication of extreme poverty; implementation of social protection systems; ensuring equal rights to ownership, basic services, technology and economic resources; and the building of resilience to environmental, economic and social disasters.
Work which intends to ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all.
Can include initiatives that address maternal mortality, disease epidemics, substance abuse, road injuries and deaths, sexual and reproduction healthcare, family planning and education, development and universal access to affordable vaccines and medicines, mental health etc.
Initiatives that intend in relation to what children need for a safe and happy life: positive relationships, safe spaces and things to do, health and well-being, skills and schools, basic needs and a happy future. Includes protecting children from abuse, exploitation, trafficking and violence.
Work which promotes:
- inclusive and economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all (incl. efforts to reach safe, productive employment; increased access to financial services to manage incomes; effective eradication of forced labour and modern slavery etc.)
- resilient infrastructure, inclusive and sustainable industrialisation, and nurture investment and innovation in transport, energy and information and communication technology.
Work which intends to support, protect, and conserve animals and wildlife. Includes but is not limited to the main directions of animal charity: wildlife conservation, pet and animal welfare, hunting & fishing conservation, zoos and aquariums etc.
Efforts which address the different issues and goals in aid to preserve artistic and cultural heritage. This can manifest in a variety of ways, from celebrating the arts to conserving the history of different art forms. Includes but is not limited to the main types of culture & art charity: public broadcasting and media, museums and art galleries, libraries and historical societies, performing arts.
Collaboration working and multi-stakeholder partnerships of governments, civil society, the private sector and others towards the betterment of society and the implementation of sustainable development. Work that demonstrates cooperation instead of competition in aid to share knowledge, expertise, technology, financial support etc.
Initiatives which address positive change goals with a main focus on cultural insights and regional context. Work that is benefiting a specific region or local area such as neighborhood, village, town or city. These solutions are based on the ideas, customs, values, lifestyles, issues and problems found within a specific region or locality.
