Ukrainian Design: The Very Best Of 2025 – make your mark in the world of design

Another key part of the Ukrainian Creative Awards/UCA program is Ukrainian Design: The Very Best Of, a competition that provides designers of various disciplines, architects, and artists with a platform to showcase their talent. Here’s everything you need to know about who this competition is for and why it was created.
Ukrainian Design: The Very Best Of is a national contest that recognizes outstanding work in different design fields and styles. Only Ukrainian designers and agencies are eligible to participate and receive recognition.
One of the unique aspects of Ukrainian Design: The Very Best Of is that it welcomes entries from creatives of all professional levels and experience. Both experienced professionals in the advertising and communication industry and young specialists or students can submit their work.
Participants can enter both completed projects and conceptual, unrealized designs. The competition program includes 5 main contests with a total of 89 categories. At Ukrainian Design: The Very Best Of, you can submit:
● Graphic Design & Branding – from logos and corporate branding to posters, illustrations, book design, multi-page, periodicals and other promotional materials.
● Digital Design – from websites, mobile applications and service design, to social networking and virtual reality.
● TV/Promo & Video Motion Graphics – from the visual design of TV channels, TV programs, design scenery, to the design and animation of commercials, art projects and movies.
● Product Design – variety of mass-produced products, from household goods, design of all types of furniture, home appliances to cars and jewelry.
● Environmental Design – works of architectural, landscape design, as well as interior design of all kinds, installations and decorations of premises or events.
Each of the five contests includes a Concept Design category for those working on innovative concepts and bold ideas. Concept Design includes: projects created for existing brands but not commissioned by them, works commissioned by a client but not approved or implemented, designs created for fictional clients.
This year, the contest program has expanded with categories dedicated to projects utilizing AI-powered design. In these categories, participants must demonstrate how artificial intelligence enhances automation, optimization, or adaptation in various design processes.
Ukrainian Design: The Very Best Of offers special opportunities for students. Each of the five contests includes a STUDENT DESIGN category, where students can submit works created as part of their academic coursework. Participation in this category is completely free.
The judging process has its own distinctive approach. First and foremost, only an international jury evaluates Ukrainian designers' work. Every year, the panel brings together leading design experts from over 20 countries across Europe, Asia, and the Americas. The jury consists of designers, art directors, architects, and creative professionals with extensive experience judging global industry competitions and holding prestigious awards from international festivals. This format ensures a diverse and multifaceted perspective on contemporary design.
Secondly, the jury selects works that, in their opinion, reflect modern trends and set new standards in design. That’s why Ukrainian Design: The Very Best Of 2025 does not follow the traditional gold, silver, or bronze award system. Instead, there are only gold winners in each category, receiving the prestigious THE VERY BEST OF, while all other notable projects are recognized as finalists – BEST OF.
